Jenell Anderson Hironimus

Jenell Anderson Hironimus serves as communications specialist for the Illinois Institute for Rehabilitation and Employment Research at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She joined UIUC in January 2020 as communication coordinator for the Department of Mathematics, where she led the department’s multichannel communication initiatives and strategy, in addition to coordinating the department’s alumni awards and department awards programs. Most recently, Jenell worked for the Illinois Center for Transition and Work, leading the center’s strategic marketing, communications and engagement efforts. She is also an IT accessibility liaison for the university. Prior to coming to UIUC, she worked in communications, marketing and development at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, for more than 14 years, most recently serving as the director of alumni and development communications and editor of Millikin Magazine, the university’s flagship publication.
